All rights reserved.Job PurposeActs as the on-site process expert, with a thorough understanding of plant operations and processes; able to lead assessments of process changes and drive improvements through their implementation.Understands the impact of key process inputs and operating parameters on output performance, including productivity, quality, energy efficiency and water/waste management.Demonstrates practical knowledge of problem-solving tools and statistical concepts, along with a sound understanding of quality system principles.Effectively engages with key stakeholders, both on-site and off-site, to manage interfaces between Production, R&D, Marketing, Planning, and Procurement, as appropriate.Key Accountabilities
  • Utilizes statistical analysis and business excellence project management processes (e.g., MOCs) to identify key improvement areas and develop actionable plans to deliver benefits.
  • Owns and monitors key plant process performance metrics, including Yield, Materials Manufacturing Efficiency (MME), Right First Time/First Run OK, batch cycle time, throughput, and other process-specific measures.
  • Acts as the primary contact with off-site technical support functions and Marketing for product changes, including recipe modifications and raw material approvals.
  • Applies appropriate change management tools and procedures (e.g., MOC) to guide product and process changes.
  • Develops improvement plans for performance enhancement through focused activities, in collaboration with operations, and via capital projects.
  • Serves as the on-site process expert with deep knowledge of plant operations; leads impact assessments of process changes and drives improvements.
  • Ensures best practice transfer and knowledge sharing within the wider AkzoNobel network.
  • Investigates root causes of process failures, develops solutions for non-conforming products, and implements corrective actions.
  • Understands the Supply Chain strategy and contributes to the site development plan by translating current capabilities into actionable plans.
  • Supports and contributes to business processes related to new product introductions.
  • Manages personal professional development by setting and achieving individual targets.
  • Possesses (or develops) strong knowledge of the paint manufacturing process.
  • Ensures full compliance with all Health, Safety, Environment, and Security (HSE&S) regulations.
  • Adheres to agreed and documented Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to maintain world-class safety and quality standards.
  • Develops and authors SOPs based on task/activity risk assessments.
  • Actively contributes to environmental management improvements by practicing resource-efficient behaviors and complying with waste management and segregation procedures.
  • Reports deficiencies or non-conformities in HSE&S, quality, and sustainability systems or processes.
  • Participates actively in HSE&S, quality, and sustainability risk-reduction initiatives.
  • Promotes workplace safety by keeping the work area clean and free from obstacles.
  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of health, safety, and environmental systems and procedures.
