We partner closely with teams across the organization to guide strategy, allocate resources efficiently, and drive sustainable growth.About the role:We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounting Specialist to join our Finance team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing the financial reporting, accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes for Careem's Grocery business in Saudi Arabia. This position requires a strong understanding of financial principles, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders.What you'll doFinancial Reporting:Lead the monthly financial closing processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.Provide sensitive financial data to key stakeholders in a timely manner.Collaborate with various departments to ensure all financial data is accurate and up-to-date.Accounts Payable & Receivable Management:Manage the AP/AR function in the Saudi and Jordan markets, this includes: * Ensuring timely and accurate posting of AP invoices from vendors, ensuring a 3 way match is done
  • Maintain strong control over the Accrued Purchase ledger
  • Preparing detailed reconciliation between Careem and vendor's data
  • Providing assistance to vendors on queries related to AP/AR
  • Creating timely AR invoices and ensuring proper accounting the system
Support Business Teams:Assist the business team with any finance and accounting-related activities.Provide financial insights and support to enhance business decision-making processes.Tax Compliance:Work closely with the tax team to ensure all invoices issued to and from the business are tax compliant in UAE.Stay updated on tax regulations and ensure adherence to all relevant tax laws.What we'll provide youWe offer colleagues the opportunity to drive impact in the region while they learn and grow. Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Commerce (B.Com) with a specialization in Accounting.Professional qualification from an accounting body (e.g., ACCA, ICAEW, etc.).Work experience of 3-5 YearsPast experience with a retail organizationPreferred Qualifications:Experience in managing financial reporting, AP, and AR processes.Strong understanding of VAT compliance and regulations in multiple markets.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Experience with Oracle FusionProficient in ExcelExperience in managing a team
