- Act as the focal point for all legislative and regulatory initiatives under the LSFF portfolio to support fortification initiatives for all three commodities of wheat flour, edible oil and edible salt iodization.
- Coordinate with relevant national and provincial ministries, departments and authorities (e.g., Health, Food, Law, P&D Departments, Assembly Secretariat, Cabinet Division) and serve as a primary liaison to facilitate the advancement and approval of food fortification laws, rules, regulations, standards and related policies.
- Translate technical inputs and program evidence into policy advocacy messages and actionable recommendations to strengthen regulatory, policy level frameworks, drawing on guidance from WHO, Codex Alimentarius, and national standards, in collaboration with the Senior LSFF Manager.
- Facilitate multi-stakeholder consultations with private sector actors (e.g., salt processors, wheat flour, and edible oil industries), public sector bodies (e.g., Food Departments, Food Authorities, PSQCA, PCSIR), and development partners (e.g. WFP, UNICEF, WHO) to build consensus on LSFF priorities and support finalization and approval of laws, rules and regulations.
