Summary:We are looking for engineers to join our client's team in Karachi. The team works on developing and delivering software solutions for collecting, storing, processing, and presenting industrial plant data all the way from edge to the cloud. They mainly work in the sectors of renewable energy (solar, wind, hydro power and battery storage), and within the oil and gas sector. The Karachi team works together with the team in Norway. As a candidate, you should be self-driven and able to take the lead while also being comfortable working in a team and collaborating with others.Job Requirements:
  • Responsible for configuring and deploying a SCADA solution based on project requirements, including parameter setup, tag mapping, and basic customization to ensure proper integration with field devices and systems.
  • Responsible for conducting thorough internal testing to validate system functionality, followed by external testing with clients to ensure compliance with project requirements and expectations.
  • Working closely with engineering, product development, and other internal teams to ensure successful project delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Developing and implementing procedures to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues within the system to ensure reliable and continuous operation.
  • Providing training to customers on SCADA systems and offering ongoing technical support.
Wanted qualifications:
  • BE or Master's in Electronics/Electrical Engineering/Computer Science
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience
  • Fluent in oral and written English
  • Comfortable working directly with customers
Relevant areas of knowledge and experience:
  • Experience in Hybrid energy system domain including Solar PV, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), Hydropower, and Wind Energy.
  • Knowledge of oil and gas industry standards and processes, including upstream, midstream, and downstream operations, with an understanding of control systems, safety protocols, and process workflows.
  • Hands-on experience with various SCADA platforms, such as Wonderware, WinCC, Ignition, GE iFIX with the ability to configure, deploy, and support systems across diverse industrial applications.
  • Proficient in industrial communication protocols such as Modbus (RTU,TCP/IP), OPC (UA,DA), IEC 61850 etc.
  • Proficient in algorithm development and logical problem solving using programming languages such as C#, Python, or equivalent.
  • Experience in databases, MS SQL, PostgreSQL preferably
  • Familiarity with Windows management tools and services and the .NET Framework development environment for managing and deploying industrial applications.
  • Skilled in Microsoft office including (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and outlook) and other Microsoft tools like OneDrive, Teams
  • Understanding of containerization and orchestration tools including Docker, Kubernetes, and Lens for managing Kubernetes clusters.
