Our client, a reputed oil and gas company of Pakistan with nationwide operations, is looking to hire a Karachi-based Manager Taxation who must have excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, a positive attitude and good communication and computer kill with working knowledge of SAP.
The candidate w ill be a key member of the senior management team and must have potential to grow further in the organization to assume senior roles.QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
The candidate should be a Chartered Accountant with post-qualification experience of at least 12 years in reputed national or multinational organizations. Expedience ol working in Big 4 tax firms will be an added advantage. Age limit is 45 years.The candidate should have excellent knowledge of taxation system, financial modeling and financial reporting standards applicable in Pakistan and be well versed in taxation laws and regulations such as Direct/Indirect Taxation, Customs & Excise, lax Planning & Strategies, Tax Assessments/Litigations, Risks and Compliance with lax Regulations and other finance functions like accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, etc.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Overall responsibility of tax function of the company and associated/subsidiary companies including tax planning, strategy, reporting, tax compliance, etc.
Lead the tax support team, manage tax audits, assessments, proceedings, litigations and other tax exposures of the company.
Evaluate potential tax coascquences in agreemcnts/contracls and various business projects.
Deal with Customs, Federal and Provincial Tax authorities in addition to internal and external stakeholders such as GOP and other regulatory authorities.
Provide strategic direction in all taxation matters and implement financial policies and processes ensuring a high degree of financial discipline and tax compliance.
Prepare timely and reliable reporting of financial results related to tax matters
Manage the tax returns preparation and filing in compliance with Federal and Provincial tax laws.
Manage tax functions in an automated environment and ensure compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements.
Coordinate with internal and external auditors.
