Required Manager Internships (Career Services & Internships Office)Minimum Education & Experience:
16 years equivalent education in Business studies, Economics, Mass Communication, Psychology with 8 years relevant work experience. (Experience in corporate dealing is preferable)
18 years equivalent education in Business studies, Economics, Mass Communication, Psychology with 6 years relevant work experience (Experience in corporate dealing is preferable)Skills:
Excellent verbal, written and communication skills
Proficiency in using technology for process improvement
Ability to deal with and counsel higher education students
Ability to work with a wide variety of people including students, faculty, staff and industry representatives
Ability to organize and deliver workshopsJob Purpose/Summary:
The Manager Internships be the liaison between students, academic departments and organizations with the goal of making internships a learning experience for students.
The Deputy Manager/Manager Internships is responsible for grooming the students for the working environment at various organizations.Responsibilities:
Manage the placements of interns by acting as a liaison between all involved parties
Maintain accurate data to track the activities and statuses of individual students
Conduct workshops that help students connect their academic learning with internship experiences
Conduct workshops that help students in developing interpersonal skills and resumes
Maintain and improve databases of students and corporate contacts
Provide internship related counseling/advising to the students
Devise and implement strategies to build networks and to research internship opportunities from a wide variety of mediums
Frequently communicate and advertise internship related information to the relevant students
Regularly communicate with HOD's to inform them about the ongoing internship opportunities, student registrations and internship evaluation
Ensure implementation of internship policies made by the Academic Council
Arrange awareness sessions on employers' expectations by companies HR managers
Publicize events and important information through use of emails, social media, SMS and official website
Frequent communication with Students, Employers and Professional Associations
Supervision of Internship staff.
