To manage the Operations and Maintenance of the portfolio of plants in Region.
To be responsible for the implementation and continuous improvement of O&M management model.
Responsible for implementation and continuous improvement of all O&M operating processes and procedures.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
1. Management
- Manage the Operations and Maintenance of all Solar PV Plants under his/her control
- Manage all O&M staff under his/her control
- Build a sound Safety and Quality Culture within O&M
- Manage training and development needs of Plant personnel
- Accept and implement the relevant legal appointments in terms of the Regional Act or equivalent regional regulations and legislation
- Regularly visit and audit the functioning of all Solar PV plants under his/her control
- Implement the integrated resourcing strategy for all Plants under his/her control
- Drive and ensure the resolution of non-conformance and defect issues
- Manage the effective handover of new Plants
- Ensure sound O&M administration and document management
- Manage stakeholder interfaces - internal and external
- Manage the standardised O&M processes & procedures
- Ensure compliance to standardised HSSEQ system across all Solar PV Plants under his/her control
- Manage a standardised Permit to Work system across all Plants under his/her control
- Manage the HV/MV operating regulations across all Plants under his/her control
- Manage utility and Regulator requirements
- Manage and control the operational budget of the region under his/her control
- Ensure compliance with O&M contractual deliverables
- O&M Budget and OPEX control and structuring
- Manage and coordinate required operational reporting
- Prepare required management reports
- Manage effective communication of Plant significant events to senior management
- Manage and report O&M related information to the Board of Directors in coordination with Asset Management
- Bi Weekly and monthly O&M Budget analysis and reporting
Knowledge
Min:
- Degree in electrical or mechanical engineering
- Highly computer literate
- Knowledge of safety legislation and best practices
- Extensive HV experience
- Degree in renewable energy engineering
- Commercial experience
- Accredited HV qualification
- National registration or accreditation
- Ability to think and function clearly, decisively and quickly under pressure

- 5 years' appropriate experience in a relevant environment
- 5 + years' Managerial experience in a technical environment
- Personnel performance management experience
- Experience with HSE systems and regulations
- Experience in Physical Asset Management, Plant Maintenance Management & Equipment Reliability improvement
- Exposure to SCADA systems
- Experience within the Renewable Energy environment
- Work experience in the power generation or distribution environment
- 10 years' appropriate experience in a relevant environment
- Competency in pertinent plant electrical equipment such as Transformers, Inverters, Switchgear, Sub-station equipment, SCADA and network communication
- Experience with HV Operating Regulations and Permit to Work systems
- Experience with CMMS/ERP and Control & Monitoring Centres
- Should be available and accustomed to travel extensively
- Must be available to travel internationally as and when required
- Must be able to work extended hours
- Valid drivers' license
