BackgroundThe Pak Alliance for Maths and Science (PAMS) is a non-profit organization that aims to inspire a love for learning and to develop cognitive and critical thinking abilities in Pakistani children.PAMS provides technical support to federal and provincial education departments, donor agencies, and partner organizations in implementing scalable STEAM and foundational learning (reading and numeracy skills) solutions in government schools. The organization also conducts research on education policy.PAMS’ head office is in Islamabad, with policy unit teams also based in Karachi, Lahore, and Peshawar.II. Scope of WorkThe Associate, Finance will report to the Lead, Finance and will be responsible for:Preparing and submitting monthly donor financial reports on timeEnsuring compliance with donor templates and contractual requirementsPreparing monthly bank reconciliation statementsEnsuring monthly payment of applicable taxes and timely filing of tax returnsManaging petty cash transactions and maintaining proper controlsMaintaining accurate cashbooks and reconciling balances regularlyMaintaining complete and organized financial records for auditsFiling all financial documents (physical and digital) in accessible formatsLiaising with banks for transactions, confirmations, and issue resolutionFollowing up on pending payments or receiptsPreparing and maintaining up-to-date accounts payable and receivable ledgersIV. Qualifications RequiredA four-year undergraduate degree in Finance or AccountingPreference for candidates at ACCA Skills/Professional Level, CA Intermediate, or ACMA Stage 3Minimum one year of experience in finance/accounting within a small or medium enterpriseDemonstrated skills in QuickBooks and MS ExcelV.
