As a Backend Engineer at Northbay, you will play a crucial role in the development and maintenance of our backend systems. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and optimize backend solutions that power our web and mobile applications. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in backend development, with expertise in Node.js, along with experience in either React or Angular.Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems using Node.js.
- Collaborate with frontend developers to integrate backend services with web and mobile applications.
- Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code that adheres to coding standards and best practices.
- Optimize backend performance for speed and scalability.
- Implement security and data protection measures.
- Work closely with DevOps and QA teams to ensure seamless deployment and testing of backend services.
- Troubleshoot and debug backend issues in production environments.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and trends in backend development.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in backend development.
- Proficiency in Node.js and server-side frameworks such as Express.js.
- Solid understanding of RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
- Experience with database systems such as MongoDB, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.
- Familiarity with frontend technologies such as React or Angular.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Knowledge of containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
