SCOPE OF WORK – Junior Engineer (Digitalization and Data Support)Project BackgroundAs part of the post 2022 floods recovery in Sindh, Sindh People’s Housing for Flood Affectees (SPHF), is leading a resilient housing reconstruction program for about 2.1 million households and carries a vision to systematically assess various flood affected settlements in Sindh to develop Climate Resilient Settlement Development Plan (CRSDP) with the technical support of CRS. This process is crucial for setting up, upgrading, and sustaining essential community infrastructures to improve access to basic public services. These plans would also help carry out the land entitlement process to vulnerable communities in Sindh.Assessment teams will work extensively in the communities for the collection of data from households and other stakeholders. In this context, the role of an Admin and Logistics Officer is critical in ensuring the efficient execution of this short-term assignment, directly contributing to the success of this transformative initiativeObjectives:The Junior Engineer (Digitalization and Data Support will assist in the preparation of digital maps and related data sheets using standard tools and software. This role involves working closely with field data collected from Spatial Surveyand supporting the accurate representation of features such as housing units and WASH infrastructure.Key Role & Responsibilities:
  • Digitize physical maps using Foxit PDF Editor or relevant software in line with project specifications
  • Accurately mark WASH infrastructure and other features based on field data collection
  • Collaborate with field engineers and survey teams to ensure accuracy in digitized outputs
  • Revise maps based on feedback and evolving project needs
  • Maintain structured Excel sheets for features extracted from maps
  • Participate in internal review meetings and provide support for technical documentation
  • Support overall reporting and documentation tasks assigned
Deliverablesa) Digitized maps as per assigned formats and standards
b) Excel files summarizing key features extracted from field data
c) Regular coordination with technical and documentation teams
d) Support in organizing and managing digital files and foldersPayment Terms:The Junior Engineer (Digitalization and Data Support) will be given a lump sum daily allowance of PKR:5500/- (four thousand and five hundred rupees, inclusive of communication allowance) per day including the day of training.Reporting relationships:The Junior Engineer (Digitalization and Data Support will report to the Technical Officer or assigned Project Engineer responsible for documentation and data quality assurance. Coordination with other field and technical staff may be required.Duration of contractThe contract duration for the assignment will be approximately 2 to 3 Months and duration may increase or decrease depending upon task completion.Required Skills & Competencies:
  • Proficiency in PDF editing software (Foxit preferred)
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel for data entry and formatting
  • Understanding of WASH infrastructure is preferred
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Must be able to follow and carry out instructions given by supervisors and willing to learn from others’ guidance.
  • Must deliver all the required outputs within deadlines
  • Good coordination and communication skills
Education
  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Civil, Environmental, or a relevant engineering field with 1-2 years of experience.
Equipment Requirements:At the time of deployment, you should have possession of the laptop with the following specifications.- HP/Dell Generation i7,8th Generation, (RAM 16-GB (DDR4) SSD 256 GB).- Battery Backup at least 2 hours, on multimedia 4 hours on standby).- Display (at least 14” full HD Display (1920x1080).Important Notes:1. These are SPHF based positions, and CRS is only supporting the recruitment process.2.
