- Ensure that the Bank is complied with the direct/indirect tax laws.
- Be updated regarding the changes/amendments in the statues relating to taxation and accordingly provide timely update to relevant functionaries of the Bank.
- To preserve the records of the entire taxation department by means of electronic archiving & scanning
- Advice the stakeholders across the Bank on interpretations of all prevailing tax laws & regulations and their Implications on the Bank and ensure that all changes are adopted / built into the operating procedures of the Bank.
- Liaise with tax consultants / lawyers for analysis of assessment orders / notices and filing income tax appeals before the appellate forums including other pending litigation matters with federal / provincial tax authorities.
- Ensure that all necessary information is provided to internal audit / external audit and regulators on a timely basis, preparing appropriate responses to audit issues and take appropriate measure to address risk highlighted in order to safeguard bank's interest.
- Prepare computation of tax charge and respective deferred tax asset or liability on a quarterly basis in accordance with relevant income tax laws and accounting standards.
- Preparation of estimates for monthly advance tax payments to the Income tax authorities.
- Ensure accurate and timely tax payments and submission of annual tax return of the Bank and submission with the regulator.
- Preparation of the financial statements and income tax return for AJK and GB Branches.
- Preparation of estimates for advance tax and payment there-against to AJK & GB tax authorities.
- Liaise with auditors and relevant personnel of finance for Head Office cost allocation certification.
- Liaising with the Country Head - Finance of the overseas entities / branches and their tax consultants of provide guidance with respect to tax matters.
- Assisting the Head - Taxation for any advice relating to cross border transactions.
- Preparation and updating the Double Income Tax Relief working on a timely basis.
- Prepare relevant documentation for reporting on behalf of HBL and provide assistance to the overseas entities / branches for documentations / reporting with respect to transfer pricing regulations including but not limited to the following:
- CBC reporting
- Master File
- Local File
- Advise for professional tax and payment.
- Qualified Chartered Accountant or its equivalent.
- 5 Years relevant experience of handling corporate tax affairs in a tax consultancy firm / Bank.
- Liaising with Federal/ Provincial tax authorities and mitigate any reputational risk or penalty.
