We are seeking an experienced and visionary Area Head of Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) to lead this critical function across our Pakistan Area (PKA) operations. A key leadership role responsible for designing and deploying the Area HSE framework, enabling proactive risk management, regulatory compliance and continuous improvement across our landside Logistics & Services (L&S) portfolio. The role works closely with IMEA leaders to ensure that HSE strategies are embedded into business decisions and operational practices while aligning with Maersk’s global standards, regional priorities and APMM’s ESG ambitions. As the Area Head, the position is responsible for leading a team of functional experts, championing operational excellence and cultivating a culture of accountability, care, and resilience across diverse teams and geographies.Job Responsibilities:Lead and develop a team of HSE professionals across Occupational Health, Safety, and Environment functionsEstablish and maintain the Area HSE framework for identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks impacting people and operationsDrive the Area’s HSE improvement plan in alignment with global and regional objectivesEnsure local implementation and compliance with APMM’s global HSE standards, considering Area specific regulations and operational contextsCollaborate with Safety & Resilience (S&R) and functional CoEs to deploy tools, build capability, and close compliance gapsChampion a culture of inclusion, psychological safety, and continuous improvement across landside operationsStay connected to external HSE trends, best practices, and innovations, translating them into actionable insights for the AreaEnsure robust HSE input and oversight in growth and integration initiatives, including risk assessments and compliance planningFacilitate HSE governance, including Area management reviews, performance reporting, and defined improvement targetsBuild strong partnerships with business leaders, influence decision-making through data and risk-based insights, and support business case developmentManage functional budgets (SG&A), ensuring effective allocation and cost controlWhat we're looking for:Proven experience in leading HSE teams in logistics, supply chain, or related industriesMinimum 15 years of progressive experience in Health, Safety & Environment, with at least 5 years in senior leadership roles, preferably within logistics, supply chain, or industrial operationsStrong functional knowledge of health, safety, environmental risk management, and regulatory complianceRelevant degree in HSE, Risk Management, Occupational Safety, or related field preferredDemonstrated ability to influence across multiple levels and geographiesExcellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including with senior leadershipStrong team leadership and people development experienceAble to work autonomously, make decisions under pressure and lead through ambiguityMaersk is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace, and we embrace different styles of thinking.
